In The Wake Of El Once de Marzo

When I was driving to work yesterday morning, I heard about the bombings in Madrid. All those people, dead in an instant. 1100 or more wounded by the work of some men and women who felt it their duty to kill to advance their cause. Barbarians, we hear them called, Terrorists, Evil Men, whatever you make of it.

The problem is not only that we live in a world full of these people, the problem is also that we live in a world that seek to profit from the hate and wrath and destruction that ensue.

Michele is spot on today.

I have no further comment here, other than to express my sorrow for the lives lost in Madrid, my mourning for the crumbling of civilization at the hands of some madmen with bombs, and my hope that the world might one day wipe out these horrible people who know only violence. We must stop making hay for parties at the expense of innocent's memories.
