What's The Big Deal About Scoble?
People I know, people I respect, treat Robert Scoble with such deference and respect that you would think he was a real dynamo. With Posts like Today's Screed on Apple Availability in response to Chuq von Rospach's suggestions to MS following the Xbox 360 launch, I have to wonder what good Robert thinks he's doing?
Microsoft clearly dropped the ball with the Xbox 360 launch, to the point where I don't want one until Halo 3 is out and all the bugs and issues have been resolved (and maybe the power supply is smaller than a Yugo...) and the available games are a little deeper in the stacks. But instead of saying "Yeah, you're right, perhaps Japan didn't need that many consoles," he launches into an attack on Chuq and his employer. What a tool. Given the way I've heard Dori talk about Robert, though, I can't say I wasn't surprised.
I just want to know why anyone listens to that tool.
Comments:
You dare criticize Scoble in public? ;)
I deleted his feed over a year ago, I just couldn't take it anymore.

What did I say? I don't recall saying anything particularly nasty (or even talking about him). Yeah, he's on the MS payroll, and his blog posts do reflect that, but it's not like that's a secret or anything.

Dori, I'd gotten the impression that you and he were on opposite sides of the gender arguments in the tech feel from several of your posts in the past. If I misread them, I apologize.

Scoble's ever-present nervous laugh sets my teeth on edge and infuriates me, as does his mangled syntax -- sentence fragments, putting words in the reader's mouth -- and the voice in which he writes.
He's not a rude bastard like you, though.
